We’re working with one of Cambridge’s leading marketing agencies on business development role, the position can be either full time or part time with some home working though they would ideally want somebody in the office 3 days a week if possible once the current situation permits. Candidates must be available to start before Christmas or in January at the very latest.
Given the nature of their products and services applicants must have 2/3 years’ experience selling media, marketing, data or publishing services, ideally to large corporate businesses across the UK. They have a roster of fantastic brands already signed up and using them, so there are some interesting project case studies the successful salesperson can use to generate opportunities. They also have a wide range of services to offer as well so candidates must be capable and intelligent consultative salespeople, with the ability to learn and discuss complex options.
As this is a services organisation this is not a hard selling role, and they need somebody that can seek out an opportunity for them to present their work, and get a meeting where other people will be involved in the overall process. There will be a real mix in the duties from some marketing, networking at business events etc, talking with existing and previous clients. However candidates must be comfortable cold calling B2B on a regular basis, as this will make up a large proportion of the role.
They need a candidate that is not afraid of the phone, and happy to take a role where the ‘sale’ is getting an opportunity for further communication as opposed to just a quick buck. And for the right person there’s a real long term career opportunity. Due to the location of the role this position is suitable for candidates commuting from Cambridge, Sawston, Haverhill, Norwich, Peterborough, Huntingdon, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Royton and St Neots.
