In addition to being the initial contact, you’ll ensure timely, professional follow-up, and collaborate with the wider Business Development team to share insights, flag up any initial concerns and support long-term conversion efforts. You will stay proactive in the event of a prospect going dormant by setting up calls later in the year to keep potential opportunities alive. Key Duties
  • Account Management of key business accounts – First line contact for key business accounts, ensuring customer success and efficient scheduling of support.
  • Lead for PSA Tool – You will take a leading role as a key champion for a new PSA Tool being implemented to ensure its ongoing successful integration and effective usage.
  • Resource Scheduling & PA Duties – Take responsibility for some email responses for SLT, ensuring important requests/requirements are handled efficiently.
  • Mainline – Be a key contact for handling mainline enquiries, taking some pressure off the technical team, and ensuring calls are routed and handled with priority.
  • Project Management – Take a project management role for new operations/technical changes internally.
Key Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative/operational position
  • Great interpersonal skills, both internally and externally
  • Technical understanding and ability (We need somebody who isn’t scared of software, and has a keen interest in learning and championing it across the business)
  • Highly organised, with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent phone manner

It’s a fantastic role for a technical salesperson, who enjoys building relationships with OEM’s and  distributors alike, somebody that enjoys international travel too as you will be required to visit potential customers across the world hunting opportunities and growing existing key accounts. As overseas travel will be approximately 2-3 weeks each quarter, you must have both be happy to and have the flexibility with commitments to travel. This role could eventually lead to the management of the UK sales team and candidates of particular interest will be selling components/consumables into OEMs/distribution, or finished products that are of a highly technical nature. As the customers will likely be specialists in their field, you will need the ability to really understand the range and target market so that you cans sell against competitors in the field – this will be taught, but a quick understanding of technical products is a must. We’re delighted to be working with one of the UK’s specialist engineering firms, seeking to employ a driven and motivated Technical Sales Specialist You will help to maintain/secure new and existing business from across the South of the UK, focussing on high-growth customers within chemical, pharma, scientific and energy. With such a diverse customer base, engineering experience in any market would be considered and the ability to learn new skills whilst in the role. You will ideally have experience writing proposals, visiting clients and be confident in selling to senior management and technically focused decision makers. Whilst a fair proportion of this role will be managing existing accounts we must have somebody happy and motivated to generate new business. You must have a strong technical focus, with the ability to understand the bigger picture and ascertain client needs and desires through strong communication skills. Working from home, you will need to have a driver's licence and a minimum of 4- years of experience in an engineering/technical sales background. A degree is not required and we invite applications from candidates with varying levels of experience, as the role could equally suit a more experienced candidate looking for a home-based opportunity.
